Daily Face

I thought it might be good to do a post on my current daily makeup routine. It's mainly all drugstore, but a few things I order online because you can't get them in the UK.

Base:  L'Oreal True Match Foundation in D3/W3
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in Light
Sleek Contour Kit in Light
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
Barry M Contour Kit

I love the highlighter in the Sleek contour kit, which is why I continue to use it even though I'm using the Barry M contour colour- the highlight shade in the Barry M kit isn't great.

Eyes: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black in Extra Black
L'Oreal Superliner in Black (not shown)
Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil in 01 Dark Brown (not shown)
Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown

Lips: Rimmel Lip Liner in East End Snob
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 03 My Pink (PH reactive colour!)

Brushes: Real Techniques Contour brush, Blush brush, Powder Brush.
Beauty Blender (not shown)

Top 3 Neutral Lip Liners

I am all about that 'your lips but better' look when it comes to lips. As much as I love a bold lip, this look is my go to everyday lip look... or if I'm going all out on the eye make up then these colours are  what I gravitate towards to avoid over doing it.
These are my 3 favourite nude/pink lip liners 2 from the drug store and one high end brand:

 Swatches from L-R

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk
Jordana Easy Liner for Lips in Tawny

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk

This is Holy Grail stuff. The best lip liner I think I have ever used. It is so creamy yet long lasting, and the perfect ' your lips but better' colour. It is a pinky-nude colour on me and I often wear it alone because it isn't as drying as other lip liners, but it also looks great under nude/pink lipsticks and enhances their wear time. This has a 7 hour wear time alone and will hold even after eating and drinking. Definitely worth the money!

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob

This is considered the drugstore dupe for the Chartlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk liner. I personally don't find it that similar in colour. On me this is much more mauve whereas Pillowtalk is more of a nude pink. The texture is  similar though- although I find this one a little too soft. I do really enjoy wearing this as an everyday liner and it has a good amount of staying power.

Jordana Easy Liner for Lips in Tawny

So technically the Jordana liner is 'drugstore' in America. I do purchase mine in bulk from Amazon because I use it constantly, it works out better to buy a few and pay less shipping. I usually pay around £7 for 3 which is pretty cheap!
This has a subtle reddy-brown under tone, it's semi-matte on the lips and lasts all day. It's slightly darker than my own lip colour, so I use this liner over the whole lip instead of just as a liner, to avoid that awkward line when it wears off.

La Roche Posay Serozinc Review

This product is a French pharmacy staple, that until very recently wasn't available in the UK, unless of course you found an eBay or Amazon seller to ship it to you, or bought it (in bulk) directly from a trip to France.
Thankfully hauling yourself to City Pharma any chance you get is no longer necessary (but still, who doesn't love Paris) and you can now purchase Serozinc online from Escentual (£8.50/150mls)

On to the product itself...

Serozinc is a zinc sulphate toner  in an aerosol can.
To apply you can either spray it directly onto your face and let it dry (my preferred method) or spray it onto a cotton pad and swipe all over the face after cleansing.

This product is targeted toward oily, blemish/acne prone skin, but there is no reason why dry or sensitive skins couldn't benefit from this, as the ingredients are purely water, zinc sulphate and sodium chloride. No nasties hiding in this can!
Zinc is great for the skin and I have recently restarted taking zinc tablets to help clear up my skin. However,  I have definitely noticed a difference with this product, as it has direct contact with my problem areas , namely along my jaw , where I get under the skin painful spots and little white bumps. The under the skin spots have began to clear to the point where they are no longer visible and I can barely feel them to touch .

I hope this is the wonder product I've been looking for... so far so good!
